Facing a criminal charge can create fear and anxiety. These feelings often arise from a lack of knowledge and understanding of what lies ahead. An inability to assess your situation can prevent you from making the right decisions to deal with your problem effectively.
I have created this site with the intent to empower you with knowledge and to help you decide whether I am the right lawyer to help you.
You will find numerous articles that provide an overview of the Canadian criminal justice system as well as helpful insights to dealing with lawyers. Also, there are many articles that describe specific offences such as domestic assault, sexual assault, shoplifting, and drinking and driving. Additionally, there is a section that deals with frequently asked questions. The site is updated regularly with new material.
Of course, knowing the source of information is as important as the information itself. I am a criminal defence lawyer practicing in the Toronto area and am a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, The Criminal Lawyers' Association (CLA), The Advocates' Society, and The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL). I handle both trial work and appeals and have represented people charged with a variety of offences including shoplifting and other forms of theft and fraud, drinking and driving, sexual assault, attempted murder, robbery, drug offences, weapons offences, and various other charges.
